My final gundam for a while....
When I saw this I thought of the green knight... Why, you ask?? When I was a kid, I remember watching The sword and the valiant.
I really liked that movie, but then again I really liked Ator the Fighting eagle and the Adventures of Buckaroo Bonzai. ooppps I digress..
Well I think I want to paint this Sinanju "green"(remo williams style). Metallic green? or Green with a pearl coating? Kinda like the green knight... Either way its gonna have a super high gloss to it. Which means plenty of polishing with 2000 grit sand paper, and using compound.
(if youve seen remo williams, youll know why I added it to my title.Im not talking about the cheap Remo Williams made for TV movie sequal either. Im talking about the OG Fred Ward Remo,!!! ) oopps i digress again...
I usually make a gundam in about 1 to 2 weeks. This should be no different, other than Im going to take my time with the painting. I am going to experiment with Mr Hobby Primer, and different paints, and different gloss coats before I begin painting the Sinanju. This part of the process will take the longest. I see this build lasting more than a month and next year I have very busy schedule.
I was going to use House of Kolor Paints, but the are freaking expensive!!!! 200 dollars for a few ounces!!! YES OUNCES!!!!! I wanted to use their kameleon paint. From certain angles the green will turn to gold or red. Very cool, but not in my budget.
Best Movie EVAR!!!! Please buy it and support it!!
Have a safe and happy new year!!!
Cheers!!!

I broke down and had to buy....
Well Ive been trying to find the elusive Hill Country Hobby shop for a while now. I finally found it and while a small shop, it has some very interesting models and interesting shoppers. I recognized a few of the shoppers from the VFW. Older modelers who have plenty of time on their hands.
The owner recognized me as the guy who builds gundams and commented on my work. Granted I could give a crap, but I smiled. Well I just purchased Star Trek, and saw that the special edition came with a model of the enterprise. I was almost about to buy it, but then i looked at it and thought" It looks really cheap and I could probably do a better job" Well that led me to the hobby store.
One of my childhood memories was watching the STAR TREK marathon, for 3 days straight during my winter vacation back in 81. I specifically remember that December, and from that day forward I was an "in the closet Trekkie". Granted im not as hardcore as most, but I do understand the discrepencies between the various incarnations of the Enterprise. So with that being said the only choice was the Enterprise 1701. The "OG".
Im going to take my "gundam experience" skillzz, and apply them to the Enterprise. This gives me a chance to try out my new double action air brush. Oh.. I had to buy the new Star Trek on blu ray to inspire me......

SA Marathon is ovah!!!
I had a most dissappointing race, but lets first look at the positives. I heard plenty of peeps saying it was too humid. I was like it was a great day!! Ive conditioned myself to run in extremes, and Paul can back that up. This was nothing. Now if it was sunny hot, I could maybe give some slack.
Now where did it all go wrong? It started at mile 11 with a slight pressure on the outside of my right knee. I slowed the pace down to around 8 minutes per mile. Then i picked it up at mile 12 to my normal 745 pace. Mile 13 came and thats when it happend... This feeling was the same feeling as my first 1/2 marathon in Helotes. My iliotibial band... Sheer pain for the next 13 miles.
I dropped to a 830 mile, then to a 9, then to a 10, etc... When I hit the missions part of the run i had my knee taped up. In some sort of weird way, I was still hoping for a 3:45 marathon. While running I saw a guy take off his shirt,he was wearing pasties to cover his nipples and a heart rate monitor. I laughed...
Around mile 16 the 3:40 pace group passed me up, and I was pissed. I then changed my plans for a sub 4 marathon. I occasionally walked when my knee flared up. Here was my thinking ...
Little did i know that walking only made my running even worse. With the Helotes incident, I just has to struggle for about a mile, before finishing When mile 18 hit, I was officially depressed. Yes!!! I couldnt believe it. I felt some sort of sadness when the 3:50 guys passed me. Once again I FELT SAD!!! Wow!!!! I had to laugh at myself. So I saw some peeps offering beer to the runners and I said "ILL take TWO!!", and I gulped down some beer. Upon leaving the missions portion, I saw a a guy who look liked the lead singer from Juday Priest. His nipple rings looked very heavy and they drupped.
Fortunately I had my ipod to keep me motivated. while running i was istening to the Strokes '12:51' and Jimmy eat world 'PAIN' .those songs were a great attitude booster. When mile 24 hit, I had to step it up, I was already passed a 4 hour marathon. What Ive learned from my years of experiecne is "ALWAYS LOOK GOOD" So I had a light smile on my face, and fought through the pain. But something happened, that ive never experiecned, " My left calf spasmed up and I almost collapsed!!!" Before that could even happen, I quickly recovered and looked around saying to myself"Did anybody see that?" I was like "COOL"!!!! I ve always seen it on tv and wondered how that happens. I guess my body didnt like me going at an 8 minute pace. Either way my knee would not have let me run that, but I had to try.
So when I hit the alamodome I saw a girl band singing Doll Parts. Kinda reminded me of Aly and AJ.....nuff said...( I know your reading this Killa Bee)
The crowd was awesome, I kept a stiff upper lip, and charged through. Even though I was EXTREMELY disgusted with my performance, I smiled at the finished, and tried to sprint through.
I inhaled all the food that was given to me, and I immediately looked for ice to apply to my knee. PAIN.... Then thought how was i going to meet Killa Bee? How did my co workers do? How did running wild do? Killa Bee eventually found me, and said this 65 year old lady beat you and she hobbled to the finish line!!! Great.... I thought that was funny, because thats the type of motivation i need.
I sat and discussed my trials and tribulations..... Then I went home around 1 and slept till around 6 pm. My knee was killing me and still is as of this writing.
well thats was my experience.....
- it was a super fantastic day!! Cool, light breeze, overcast. PERFECT RUNNING WEATHER!!
- my cardio was great, my energy was fantasic

- Run at a 8 minute pace and experiecne bad pain
- Run at a 10-12 minute pace and expericen pain
- Walk and just feel discomfort
