Wow. These guys are serious. OK -- here's the skinny:
The effects of G-force and wind created a slight 'rippling' effect in the panels of the plane. In order to mirror this effect (as shown in the old school picture), he applied a putty/paint mixture (his personal mix) to certain areas. He then let the paint dry for a day, sanded it down with 1000 grit paper to make the uniform markings a bit more 'unbalanced' and painted over it with that white paint -- 'surfacer.' That's about it.
Oh yeah, ran an 11:31 2-mile. 5:46 pace. Got beat by a dude running with a stroller. 2nd place overall.
